Opinion of the United States Around the World
Every year, the Pew Research Center conducts polls worldwide asking the following question:
"Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of the U.S.?"
In this graphic, I have compared the results of their survey over the course of four years in a handful of significant countries.
It is curious to note that in 2011, Japan had a higher opinion of the United States than did Americans themselves, perhaps owing to U.S. response and aid in the wake of the devastating Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
