In 1979, National Longitudinal Studies began an ongoing study following 12,000+ men and women between the ages of 14 and 22, collecting data such as occupation and household income. Inspired by a Planet Money article, I was inspired to look even further into the data. I was able to find some correlations between the job and income a person held in 2010 versus their household income as a child in 1979, answering the question, “Who had richer parents, doctors or artists?”
